About the role
You will join Médecins du Monde's mission in Afghanistan at a pivotal moment, ensuring the quality and relevance of medical activities and strengthening medical leadership, especially in SRHR.
Key responsibilities
- Define, drive and monitor the mission's medical strategy, aligning with global priorities and focusing on SRHR.
- Ensure quality, relevance and effectiveness of health, nutrition, MHPSS and SRHR activities across programmes.
- Lead, support and develop medical teams through coaching, capacity‑building and performance management.
- Analyse programme performance and medical data to guide decision‑making and continuous improvement.
- Design new projects, contribute to donor proposals and support strategic development.
- Represent MdM with health authorities, humanitarian actors, partners and community stakeholders.
- Adapt programmes and priorities in response to contextual changes, population needs and emergencies.
Required profile
- Strong commitment to human rights, non‑discrimination and respectful engagement in sensitive contexts.
- Proven ability to provide strategic medical leadership and bring structure to complex health programmes.
- Experience leading teams through trust, listening, accountability and collaboration.
- Track record of strengthening quality, relevance and impact of SRHR or public health programmes.
- Skilled at building productive relationships and negotiating with authorities, partners and diverse stakeholders.
- Calm, analytical and decisive in emergencies, operational constraints or rapidly changing contexts.

What we offer
- Gross monthly salary of €3,664
- Fixed‑term contract (6 months) with possibility of extension
- 13th‑month salary after 6 months seniority
- Expatriation allowance (10% of gross salary)
