About the role
Aecon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to support its Civil East sector projects. You will work alongside experienced professionals to assist with mechanical engineering tasks, ensuring quality and compliance with project standards.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with mechanical engineering assignments of limited to moderate complexity, including calculations, BOM preparation, and basic CAD drawings.
- Support plant data gathering, field walkdowns, and maintain detailed design documentation.
- Coordinate mechanical scopes of work across facilities and system interfaces, and track progress of M&E installations.
- Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and RFIs to identify conflicts and constructability issues.
- Support testing, commissioning, and system turnover activities, including documentation and close‑out requirements.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering degree program.
- Completed coursework in thermodynamics; power engineering and HVAC knowledge preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience using Autodesk AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
