Graduate Project Engineer

About the role

Aecon is seeking a Graduate Project Engineer to join its Civil East sector. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support project scheduling, cost control, and safety compliance on infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in scheduling work crews and coordinating specialty material procurement.
• Perform site previews, inspections, and manage inventory of tools and equipment.
• Review weekly equipment utilization reports and correct misallocations.
• Track worker training matrices and acquire safety documentation from subcontractors.
• Support budget understanding, cost reporting, and revenue forecasting at the project level.
• Enter time, book travel, and schedule field personnel.
• Ensure safety inspection reporting complies with Aecon Health & Safety and Environmental Manual.
• Analyze data from various systems and generate reports for customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Self‑motivated with strong organizational abilities.
• Adaptable to flexible work schedules to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Experience with SharePoint.
