About the role
Join Aecon's Civil East sector as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, working alongside experienced professionals to support mechanical scopes across infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and support mechanical scopes of work across facilities and system interfaces.
- Assist with planning, sequencing, and execution of mechanical activities in line with project schedules.
- Review M&E drawings, specifications, shop drawings and RFIs to identify conflicts and constructability issues.
- Track and report progress of mechanical installations, inspections and deficiencies.
- Support testing, commissioning and system turnover activities, including documentation and close‑out requirements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (2:2 or higher preferred).
- Full driver’s licence preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Flexibility to work in both field and office environments.
Required skills
- Understanding of mechanical systems, engineered tools/equipment and automated systems.
- Ability to review and interpret M&E drawings, specifications and shop drawings.
- Experience with coordination of mechanical and electrical inspections.
- Proficiency in tracking installation progress and reporting deficiencies.
