Graduate Civil Engineer

About the role

Aecon is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join its Civil East sector, supporting the delivery of complex infrastructure projects such as bridges, highways, tunnels and airports. You will work alongside experienced professionals, helping to streamline project costs, mitigate risks and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare simple plans, designs, calculations, cost estimates and bills of material in accordance with codes and specifications.
• Support monitoring of project costs, material quantities and scheduling, and assist with bids and proposals for new work.
• Manage project‑specific material and equipment purchases, maintain vendor relations and process invoices.
• Act as liaison between client, subcontractors and project team, generating RFIs and NCRs as needed.
• Participate in setting up cost code structures and coordinating information between estimating and site teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (2:2 or higher preferred).
• Full driver’s licence preferred.
• Ability to work both in the field and office environments.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Primavera scheduling software.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar construction industry software.
