Supply Chain Specialist (Systems Strengthening)

About the role

The Supply Chain Specialist (Systems Strengthening) supports UNICEF's health section in Kabul, overseeing the full supply chain cycle from planning to distribution, and ensuring compliance with UNICEF policies in a challenging operating environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the supply component of the health section, including procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, transport and distribution.
• Provide technical and advisory support for supply chain strengthening and emergency response.
• Identify, manage and mitigate risks related to supply chain operations.
• Coordinate end‑user monitoring in collaboration with programme and implementing partners.
• Establish strong working relations with UNICEF Supply and Logistics units to align with global and regional approaches.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply/Purchasing, Logistics, Law, International Studies, Public Health or Social Science.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience at national or international level in supply management, health, procurement, logistics, customs clearance, risk or vendor management.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language or local language is an asset.
