Protection from Violence Team Leader

About the role

The Protection from Violence (PfV) Team Leader will be based in the Western Region, Herat Province, and will supervise PfV Officers and Assistants. The role ensures quality implementation of PfV activities, provides technical guidance, and manages the Community Resource Center (CRC) to deliver timely, accountable, and inclusive protection services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise PfV project activities at field level, ensuring compliance with NRC policies, SOPs, and humanitarian standards.
• Provide day‑to‑day guidance, coaching, and support to PfV Officers, Assistants, and Community‑Based Workers.
• Oversee protection case management, including identification, assessment, planning, follow‑up, and closure of high‑risk cases.
• Conduct regular case conferences, coordinate referrals with external agencies, and ensure accurate case documentation and secure filing.
• Manage cash distribution processes in line with beneficiary preferences and SOPs.
• Facilitate two‑way communication in the CRC, disseminate information on rights and services, and collect community feedback.
• Prepare and submit progress, activity, and field monitoring reports to the PfV Coordinator.
• Conduct field visits to monitor service quality, provide in‑field coaching, and support information gathering on humanitarian trends and protection concerns.
• Collaborate with NRC Core Competencies, MEAL teams, and relevant stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience supervising protection staff and managing community‑based protection activities.
• Strong knowledge of protection principles, Do No Harm, protection mainstreaming, and NRC’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments.
• Ability to produce regular reports, maintain document management practices, and ensure confidentiality.
• Experience coordinating multi‑sectoral referrals and cash distribution processes.
