Programme Development Manager

About the role

The Programme Development Manager will support the Head of Programme Development and Resource Mobilization in profiling Save the Children’s programme development and resource mobilisation efforts for the Afghanistan Country Office. The role focuses on analysing the portfolio, mapping donor landscapes and driving funding strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the current programme portfolio to identify trends that inform funding strategies.
• Research and track upcoming funding opportunities across INGOs, private sector, government donors, trusts and foundations.
• Participate in donor meetings to gather intelligence and build long‑term collaborations.
• Cultivate relationships with external stakeholders and potential partners for large‑scale or strategic funding opportunities.
• Collaborate with Member Offices to explore innovative fundraising approaches, especially with new humanitarian donors and the private sector.
• Implement the funding strategy, ensuring coordination among country office teams to meet restricted funding targets.
• Work with the Programme Development and Quality team to set ambitious donor‑engagement targets.
• Conduct regular donor landscape mapping and develop effective donor‑engagement plans.
• Support the Partnerships Unit with technical inputs for proposal development.
