Midwifery Technical Advisor

About the role

The Midwifery Technical Advisor will lead the technical aspects of the project, supporting the Executive Director and coordinating activities with donors and stakeholders across Afghanistan.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate project implementation and lead the execution of the implementation plan.
• Review and finalize midwifery practice standards, terms of reference, and curriculum translations in Dari and Pashto.
• Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and the establishment of a national task‑force committee.
• Provide technical support for virtual university development and conduct national symposiums for CME recognition.
• Prepare quarterly and annual reports, manage procurement, and ensure quality assurance.

Required profile

• Certified midwife or related higher education degree.
• 5–8 years of experience in family planning, maternal and newborn health.
• Strong analytical, supervisory, and team‑management abilities.
• Willingness to travel to five cities and work under tight deadlines.
