Midwife Head

About the role

The Midwife Head will lead the midwifery team at the MLMCC within Jannah Hospital, ensuring high‑quality maternal and newborn care in line with AMA values and national health standards. This is a fixed‑term position based in Kabul, reporting to the project manager.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and evaluate midwifery activities, supervise staff and ensure compliance with protocols and hygiene standards.
• Manage pharmacy and medical equipment for the department, including ordering, stock control, inventory, and disposal of expired items.
• Coordinate administrative tasks, data collection, patient records and produce regular reports for project monitoring.
• Schedule staff, monitor attendance, evaluate performance and arrange training as needed.
• Participate in hospital and committee meetings, provide feedback and address incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Registered Midwife; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least two years of experience in a similar midwifery leadership role.
• Strong communication skills in Dari/Pashtu; English proficiency desirable.
• Two positive references from previous employers or educators.
