Field Security Support Officer – Professional

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Field Security Support Officer to strengthen security risk management for its operations in Afghanistan. Reporting to the Field Security Officer and the Chief of Mission, the incumbent will help ensure the safety of personnel, assets and programme activities in a complex environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert support to enable IOM activities and assist the Field Security Officer and Chief of Mission with all aspects of security risk management in Afghanistan.
• Implement safety and security management procedures that address threats to personnel, premises, assets and operational activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Security Management, Business Administration, Political/Social Science, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Law, International Relations or related field with at least two years relevant experience, or a university degree with four years experience.
• Minimum two years of progressively responsible experience in security, risk, disaster or crisis management, preferably in an international or humanitarian context.
