Advocacy & Humanitarian Mine Action Specialist (Kabul)

About the role

Humanity & Inclusion is seeking an Advocacy and Humanitarian Mine Action Specialist to join its Kabul office. The specialist will support the organization’s mission to reduce armed violence, promote inclusion, and improve safety for vulnerable populations across Afghanistan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead advocacy initiatives on mine action and explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) with national authorities, donors, and coordination bodies.
• Develop and implement humanitarian mine action strategies aligned with HI’s four pillars.
• Coordinate with HI’s provincial offices (Herat, Kunduz, Kandahar) and sectoral clusters (health, protection, etc.) to ensure integrated programming.
• Prepare reports, policy briefs, and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor security and access conditions, providing risk assessments for field activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑5 years experience in humanitarian mine action, advocacy, or related security fields.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Afghan context, including local governance and disability inclusion.
• Ability to work in unpredictable security environments and travel to project sites.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
