Provincial Communication Officer – Polio Campaign

About the role

The Provincial Communication Officer (PCO) will support polio eradication efforts in high‑risk provinces by supervising district communication officers, coordinating community engagement, and building capacity of frontline workers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee planning, performance monitoring and micro‑planning of DCOs and FMVs to ensure alignment with program objectives.
• Manage community engagement activities, including mobilising local influencers, religious leaders and women’s groups.
• Supervise deployment, training and on‑the‑job coaching of Female Mobilisation Vaccinators in high‑risk districts.
• Conduct field monitoring visits, supervise social mobilisers, track rumors and collect social data on polio cases.
• Coordinate advocacy with provincial authorities, WHO, NGOs and community‑based organisations.
• Collaborate with supply committees to monitor cold‑chain inventory, vaccine distribution and logistics reporting.

Required profile

• University degree in social science, political science, law, medical science or public health.
• At least three years of relevant experience, preferably in polio or health promotion programmes.
• Fluency in local languages and good command of English.
• Willingness to travel to districts and villages for monitoring and support.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic internet and computer skills.
