Finance Manager

About the role

BEID Consulting Services (BCS), an Afghan-owned consulting firm serving UN agencies, NGOs, government institutions and the private sector, is hiring a Finance Manager. The role manages financial operations, prepares monthly donor invoices based on actual eligible expenditures, processes vendor payments against verified invoices and approved expenses, keeps accurate financial records and ensures compliance with donor agreements, BEID policies and financial procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly donor invoices, reconcile them with accounting records and donor reports, and follow up on outstanding invoices and donor queries.
• Review vendor invoices against purchase orders, contracts, delivery notes and goods received notes, then process payments only after approvals and fund availability are confirmed.
• Maintain complete financial records, perform bank, vendor, receivable and payable reconciliations, and support monthly closing, donor reports and management reports.
• Monitor actual spending against approved budgets, flag variances and unusual transactions, and ensure compliance with donor agreements and cost eligibility rules.
• Maintain internal controls, segregation of duties and approval limits, and support internal and external audits.
• Coordinate with project managers, procurement, administration and budget holders, and guide staff on financial documentation and invoicing.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• At least nine papers of the ACCA qualification; ACCA finalists and fully qualified members get preference.
• At least 5 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably with NGOs, donor-funded projects or international organizations.
• Demonstrated experience preparing donor invoices and processing vendor payments.

Required skills

• Good understanding of accounting procedures, donor financial requirements, budget monitoring, expenditure eligibility and internal controls.
• Experience with accounting software and strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel; QuickBooks or similar systems are an advantage.
• Analytical, organizational, reconciliation, communication and time-management skills, with attention to detail and integrity.
