Cash and Market Officer

About the role

The Cash and Market Officer leads the design and implementation of cash‑based interventions and financial inclusion initiatives within Food Security and Livelihoods programmes, ensuring transparent beneficiary selection and effective cash delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead market assessments, price monitoring and feasibility studies for cash voucher assistance.
• Develop cash assistance plans, risk‑management strategies and coordinate with financial service providers.
• Oversee beneficiary selection, verification, registration and issuance of ration cards.
• Support community empowerment through participatory disaster risk management and market linkages.
• Provide regular reports, reconciliation and monitoring to programme managers and ensure compliance with SOPs and “Do No Harm” principles.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience with NGOs in cash, food and voucher programming, financial inclusion or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, management, marketing, agriculture or social science; Master’s preferred.
• Ability to travel domestically and work in field conditions (approximately 80% field activity).
• Fluency in Dari and Pashtu; English a plus.
