Senior Information Technology Associate

About the role

IOM, a UN-related organization focused on migration, is recruiting a Senior Information Technology Associate in Kabul. Reporting to the Information Technology Officer and coordinating with the ICT Division Central Team, the post covers ICT support, security, compliance and network maintenance for the mission and its sub-offices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support, assessment and recommendations in a complex network environment based on Cisco and Microsoft infrastructure, and give remote support to IOM Afghanistan sub-offices
• Maintain IT inventory, guide equipment specifications and evaluate assets, and keep locally hosted services such as DHCP and print services running
• Keep computers and devices updated and compliant with ICT security standards, and monitor compliance with ICT security policies and IOM Global ICT guidelines
• Maintain LAN/WAN equipment including Cisco/Meraki firewalls, switches and wireless access points, and ensure VPN and internet connectivity with minimal downtime
• Administer account lifecycles using One Identity / Infosec, and supervise ICT associates in the field
• Implement and monitor IT security controls such as MFA, RADIUS, Microsoft Endpoint Protection, BitLocker and Intune
• Train users on corporate applications, ICT security awareness and new applications, and prepare reports, documentation and SOPs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, Information Security or a related field with four years of relevant experience, or a school diploma with six years of experience
• Fluency in English (oral and written); working knowledge of Pashto or Dari is required
• Professional certifications in Security, Microsoft and Cisco technologies are an advantage; prior IOM or UN experience is an advantage

Required skills

• Cisco and Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Meraki and Microsoft 365
• Power Automate, Power Apps and Power BI
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, routers, switches, VPN and network security
• IT service asset and configuration management
• Microsoft Office, MS Project, Visio and Teams
