Secretary – Cooperation Section (EU Delegation)

About the role

The European Union Delegation in Kabul is seeking a motivated Secretary to support the Cooperation Section. Working under the Head of Cooperation, you will provide essential administrative assistance in a multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general secretarial duties such as clerical work, scheduling appointments, and maintaining calendars.
• Draft, process, and register notes, e‑mails, and letters; manage both electronic and paper filing systems.
• Take minutes of meetings, organise events and missions, and facilitate visitor access to the EU compound.
• Translate documents and provide language support in English, Pashto and/or Dari.

Required profile

• Secondary education with a diploma granting access to post‑secondary studies.
• At least three years of professional experience, preferably in international aid or diplomatic settings.
• Medically fit, holder of civil rights and a valid local work permit.
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking skills in English and Pashto and/or Dari (minimum B2 level).

Required skills

• Proficient use of MS Office applications.
