Executive & Operations Manager – Kabul Office

About the role

The Executive & Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of the Kabul Office and coordinate the Institute’s executive, administrative and research activities across Afghanistan. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role is pivotal for building ISRAND’s technical and institutional presence in the country.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily office activities, administrative staff and operational procedures.
• Support the establishment and coordination of R&D departments, technical working groups and provincial representatives.
• Develop professional networks, institutional partnerships and provincial representations.
• Coordinate closely with the CEO, Board and international teams to implement decisions and provide regular activity reports.
• Represent ISRAND in meetings with government bodies, universities and partner organisations, strengthening cooperation networks.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Proven experience in office management, coordination or administrative leadership, preferably within NGOs or research institutions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams and coordinate organisational activities.
• Full professional proficiency in Dari, Pashto and English.

What we offer

• Full‑time position with a monthly gross salary of AFN 20,000.
• Standard working hours (8 hours/day, 5 days/week) with Thursday and Friday off.
• Annual leave entitlement (20 days) and essential leave (10 days) as per Afghan Labour Law.
• One‑year fixed‑term contract after a 3‑month probation period, renewable by mutual agreement.
