Senior Enterprise Infrastructure & Hardware Engineer

About the role

Afghan Wireless, Afghanistan's first wireless communications company, is hiring a Senior Enterprise Infrastructure & Hardware Engineer. The role takes over the IN data centre and clusters from the vendor end-to-end, covering production, disaster-recovery and testbed infrastructure, and includes two engineers sharing primary and backup responsibilities with leave and on-call coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot HPE ProLiant and Dell PowerEdge servers, verify models and maintain lifecycle, capacity and compatibility records
• Diagnose and replace failed server components, manage spares, warranties and RMA records
• Administer HPE MSA 2000-series SAN and Dell EMC Unity storage, including pools, RAID, LUNs, iSCSI/NFS and Fibre Channel
• Manage VMware ESXi/vCenter, host clusters, virtual machines and virtual networking, and administer Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL and Windows Server
• Automate configuration and health checks with Ansible and scripting
• Maintain rack layouts, asset inventories, cabling records and UPS/battery monitoring, and plan controlled shutdowns and relocations
• Lead incident diagnosis, corrective action and post-incident reviews, and maintain recovery runbooks
• Support F5 BIG-IP LTM appliances and Aruba 6300M switches, and coordinate with facilities for power, cooling and electrical work
• Train backup engineers and take part in an on-call rotation

Required profile

• Hands-on server, storage, VMware and Linux fault diagnosis, repair and recovery
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams such as SAT, PS Core, Signaling, OSS/BSS, Network Security and IP/MPLS

Required skills

• HPE iLO, Dell iDRAC, BIOS/UEFI, RAID and SAN administration
• VMware ESXi/vCenter, Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows Server
• Bash/Linux scripting, Ansible, PowerCLI/PowerShell
• F5 BIG-IP LTM and Aruba 6300M switch administration
