Programme Specialist – Integrated Programming Unit

About the role

The Programme Specialist will support the Integrated Programming Unit (IPU) in delivering UN Women’s strategic priorities across Afghanistan. Working under the IPU Programme Manager, the incumbent will provide technical and programme‑management assistance for project development, implementation, monitoring and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate planning and implementation of projects within the Integrated Programming portfolio.
• Provide technical support to implementing partners on Ending Violence against Women (EVAW), Gender in Humanitarian Action (GiHA) and Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) initiatives.
• Strengthen partner management, quality assurance, results‑based management and compliance with approved work plans and budgets.
• Contribute to integrated proposal development, donor reporting and programme monitoring.
• Facilitate coordination with sub‑offices, technical specialists and other stakeholders to ensure coherent and accountable programme delivery.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in programme or project management within gender, humanitarian or development contexts.
• Knowledge of UN Women’s mandate and the Afghan socio‑political environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government, civil society and donor partners.
