Programme Monitoring & Reporting Coordinator – WCSO Unit

About the role

UN Women is seeking a Monitoring & Reporting Coordinator for the Women’s Civil Society Organizations (WCSO) Unit in Kabul. The role supports the collection, analysis and reporting of programme data, ensuring accountability to partners and donors while contributing to evidence‑based decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical inputs to programme formulation, develop monitoring indicators, calendars and field monitoring plans.
• Support partners in creating performance monitoring frameworks, reporting tools and data collection instruments.
• Track implementation progress against approved indicators, targets and work plans, maintaining monitoring plans, databases and reporting trackers.
• Compile, validate and analyse quantitative and qualitative data, preparing dashboards, tables and reporting packages for internal and external audiences.
• Conduct quality reviews of partner narrative reports, identify gaps and support partners to improve report quality and timeliness.
• Maintain programme documentation systems, evidence records for audits and evaluations, and assist in verification of reported results.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Political Science, International Development, Gender Studies, Monitoring & Evaluation or related field (or equivalent combination of degree and experience).
• At least 1 year of progressively responsible experience in monitoring, reporting, results‑based management or knowledge management, preferably in development, humanitarian or peace‑and‑security programmes.
• Strong analytical, drafting and report‑writing abilities with experience synthesising programme performance data.
• Excellent coordination, stakeholder engagement and partner support skills.
