Medical Doctor / Health Facility In-Charge

About the role

Relief International, an international non-profit organisation working in 15 countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, is recruiting a Medical Doctor / Health Facility In-Charge. The post holder provides comprehensive medical care to patients and oversees the day-to-day operation of a basic health centre, combining clinical duties with administrative management.

Key responsibilities

• Clinical duties: diagnose, treat and manage conditions in patients of all ages, respond to emergencies, conduct health assessments and physical examinations, and develop individualised treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and prevention, refer complex cases to higher-level services and follow them up, and prioritise patients referred from BPHS health facilities.
• Night duty on a regular basis if needed.
• Oversee daily operations of the facility in line with health regulations and standards, and supervise nurses, technicians and administrative staff.
• Assist with the facility's budget and financial resources, run quality assurance programmes, and maintain accurate medical records and reports for health authorities.
• Raise regular supply requests and secure therapeutic food and drugs, ensure project targets are met, and submit monthly reports to the HF supervisor or project manager.
• Support the team during project handover and take part in community health outreach and collaboration with local health authorities and NGOs.

Required profile

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited institution.
• Valid medical licence to practice medicine in the country (passed exit exam).
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience; prior experience as a health facility in-charge is preferred.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
