Logistics Officer

About the role

Imtiaz Trading Co. Ltd, a company founded in 1993 specialising in import and export consultancy and the import of food products into Afghanistan, is hiring a full-time Logistics Officer. The role coordinates end-to-end cargo movement from supplier to customer, safeguarding delivery performance, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance and inventory accuracy, and acts as the central link between suppliers, freight forwarders, carriers, customs authorities, warehouse teams and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound cargo by road, sea, air and multimodal routes; select carriers and freight forwarders; prepare and verify shipping documents.
• Track shipments in real time, maintain accurate ETAs and plan receiving capacity and equipment.
• Act as the main contact for suppliers, confirm cargo readiness and track supplier performance.
• Supervise loading, check load integrity, seals and temperature requirements, and follow cargo through transit, including insurance claims.
• Coordinate import and export clearance with customs brokers, manage duties, taxes and demurrage, and keep audit-ready records.
• Oversee warehouse receiving, storage, picking and dispatch, enforce health and safety standards, run cycle counts and reconcile stock with the ERP/WMS system.
• Manage shortages, damages and claims, and handle last-mile delivery, proof of delivery and returns.
• Produce KPI reports, reconcile freight invoices and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, import/export or warehouse operations.
• Working knowledge of customs procedures, Incoterms and international shipping documents.
• Desirable: professional certification (CILT, CIPS, APICS CSCP), transport tracking systems experience, knowledge of other relevant languages, last-mile or e-commerce distribution experience.
