Driver (G-2) – Temporary – Afghanistan (Kandahar, Lashkar Gah, Jalalabad)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a reliable G‑2 Driver on a temporary basis to provide safe transportation for staff and officials across Kandahar, Lashkar Gah, and Jalalabad. The role supports UNICEF’s mission to protect children in challenging environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide reliable and safe driving services for UNICEF personnel and visitors.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of the assigned vehicle.
• Maintain accurate documentation of vehicle usage, fuel, and service records.

Required profile

• Secondary education (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years of driver experience in an international organization, embassy, or UN system with a clean driving record.
• Fluency in English, Pashto, and Dari.
• Ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Safe driving and defensive‑driving techniques.
• Knowledge of local roads, traffic rules, and regulations.
• Basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
