Data Enumerator - Mid-Term Evaluation Survey

About the role

The Liaison Office (TLO), an Afghan NGO based in Kabul, is running a mid-term evaluation of the CSRLS project to assess progress, achievements and changes among beneficiary households. Data enumerators will collect reliable, accurate household-level data using KoboToolbox. The assignment lasts one month, and payment for the month plus eligible field expenses will be provided according to the approved budget and agreed contractual terms.

Key responsibilities

• Attend enumerator training and learn the approved questionnaire and data collection procedures.
• Conduct face-to-face interviews with selected households and obtain informed consent.
• Collect data accurately using KoboToolbox on a smartphone or tablet.
• Review questionnaires for completeness and consistency before submission.
• Follow ethical standards, confidentiality, safeguarding, Do No Harm and data protection procedures.
• Translate responses from local languages to English when needed.
• Submit completed questionnaires on time with daily progress updates, cooperate with supervisors during spot checks, and recollect data that is not appropriate.

Required profile

• Minimum high school education; university education is an advantage.
• At least two years of relevant experience in data collection, surveys or monitoring and evaluation.
• Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari, depending on the assigned location.
• Basic English reading and writing skills to understand the questionnaire, follow instructions and translate when required.
• Strong communication skills, honesty, attention to detail and willingness to travel to assigned communities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, with good time management.

Required skills

• Familiarity with KoboToolbox is an advantage.
