Contracts Specialist (P-3) – Fixed Term – Kabul, Afghanistan

About the role

The Contracts Specialist will support UNICEF’s procurement and supply management functions in Afghanistan, ensuring that all contracting activities are carried out in compliance with UNICEF policies and in a transparent, competitive manner.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all contracting activities comply with UNICEF Financial Rules, SD Manual and procurement procedures.
• Develop specifications, attend bid openings, evaluate bids and manage contract award processes.
• Maintain and update contracts and Long‑Term Agreements in the VISION system, monitoring delivery and performance.
• Provide regular statistical reporting on contract services and act as focal point for the Procurement Case Management platform.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply/Purchasing, Law, International Development or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in supply management, contracting, procurement or logistics in humanitarian settings.
• Fluent English; knowledge of another UN language or Dari/Pashto is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with UNICEF’s VISION procurement system.
• Experience using SAP for contract and financial management.
