Health and Nutrition Assistant

About the role

World Vision is seeking a Health and Nutrition Assistant to support the implementation of health and nutrition programs in designated provinces of Afghanistan. The role is full‑time, grant‑funded and involves regular travel to project sites, working closely with health facilities and community health workers.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of health and nutrition services through static health centers and mobile teams.
• Ensure timely distribution of medical and non‑medical supplies to health facilities.
• Monitor and supervise the quality of health services to meet project standards.
• Organize and facilitate training sessions for health personnel.
• Provide mentorship and capacity‑building support to health staff alongside the Health and Nutrition Officer.
• Coordinate referral of critical patients to secondary and tertiary care facilities.
• Follow up on referred cases to ensure appropriate medical care.
• Assist the Health and Nutrition Officer/Coordinator in overall project implementation and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Local candidate willing to travel regularly to project sites.
• Ability to work collaboratively with health facilities, community health workers, and local stakeholders.
