Facilities Manager – International Real Estate

About the role

The World Bank Group is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of its regional office in Kabul. This position is part of the International Real Estate team, responsible for delivering safe, cost-effective and sustainable real‑estate solutions that support the Bank’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day facilities operations for the Kabul office, including housekeeping, building maintenance, electrical and mechanical engineering systems, and landscaping.
• Develop and implement work programmes in coordination with the Regional Portfolio Lead and headquarters managers.
• Supervise contractors and service providers, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and sustainability standards.
• Liaise with internal business units, attorneys, real‑estate brokers, landlords, furniture and equipment manufacturers, and engineering and construction firms.
• Monitor and report on capital investment plans and maintenance budgets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities or building management, preferably in an international or multi‑site environment.
• Fluency in English, Dari and Pashto.
• Strong ability to work with diverse stakeholders across headquarters and country offices.
• Based in Kabul, Afghanistan, with willingness to work on‑site for the full contract term.
