Partnerships Manager – Fixed Term (P‑4) – Kabul

About the role

The Partnerships Manager will support UNICEF Afghanistan’s resource mobilisation strategy by building and strengthening relationships with a diverse range of donors and development partners. Reporting to the Chief Partnerships and Resource Mobilisation, the role combines strategic partnership development, fundraising negotiation and team leadership to maximise donor contributions for children’s programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Resource Mobilisation team to exchange knowledge and align fundraising plans.
• Identify, negotiate and capture new fundraising opportunities with bilateral donors, multilateral banks, UN pooled funds and emerging partners.
• Develop and maintain high‑quality donor engagement processes, ensuring transparent stewardship of resources.
• Lead a team of partnership professionals, building capacity to deliver effective donor relations.
• Support country‑level advocacy and contribute to the design of resource mobilisation and advocacy strategies.
• Execute assigned work‑plans and provide regular updates to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in resource mobilisation, partnership development or fundraising within humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong understanding of donor funding mechanisms and multi‑partner coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a small professional team.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with fluency in English.
