Partnerships Manager – Fixed Term (P-4) – Kabul

About the role

The Partnerships Manager will support UNICEF Afghanistan’s resource mobilisation strategy by building and strengthening relationships with a diverse portfolio of donors and partners. Reporting to the Chief of Partnerships and Resource Mobilisation, the incumbent will work closely with the Resource Mobilisation team to capture fundraising opportunities and ensure effective stewardship of donor resources.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with development banks, bilateral donors, UN pooled funds, and emerging market partners.
• Negotiate and secure funding agreements, ensuring compliance with UNICEF policies and donor expectations.
• Lead a team of professionals, providing guidance, capacity building, and performance oversight.
• Coordinate knowledge exchange and analysis to inform advocacy and fundraising strategies.
• Monitor and report on donor engagement, resource utilisation, and fundraising outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in donor engagement, partnership development, and resource mobilisation within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a track record of securing multi‑million dollar funding.
• Ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills to represent UNICEF’s mission.

• Expertise in partnership management and donor stewardship.
• Familiarity with UNICEF’s resource mobilisation frameworks and advocacy processes.
