National Education Consultant (Research & Quality Assurance)

About the role

The UNESCO Office in Kabul is seeking a National Education Consultant to support its Inclusion, Quality of Education and Research (IQR) team. The consultant will ensure the technical quality and contextual relevance of research outputs and knowledge products, while contributing to new research initiatives that address education challenges in Afghanistan.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality assurance for study reports and knowledge products, ensuring technical accuracy, appropriate language, and gender and cultural sensitivity.
• Conduct desk research to finalize existing reports, develop concepts for new research, and assist in preparing grant applications.
• Identify knowledge gaps in the education sector and help formulate new research initiatives.
• Facilitate enumerator training workshops as a local master trainer and support consultation meetings.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in education research, quality assurance, and production of knowledge products.
• Ability to conduct desk research and support grant proposal development.
• Experience delivering training workshops and engaging with local stakeholders.
