Light Vehicle Driver

About the role

The Light Vehicle Driver will operate UNAMA vehicles safely in the Bamyan Field Office, supporting the transport of staff, official mail, supplies and other items while ensuring vehicles are well‑maintained and road‑worthy.

Key responsibilities

• Drive UNAMA vehicles safely for authorized personnel transport.
• Deliver and collect official mail, documents, supplies and other items.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (oil, water, battery, brakes, tires) and routine maintenance.
• Carry out minor repairs such as changing flat tyres.
• Keep vehicles fully fueled, clean and road‑worthy.
• Record trips, mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes and greasing.
• Report vehicle damages, mechanical and electrical faults to the Transport Officer.
• Ensure compliance with UN reporting procedures for accidents and incidents.
• Follow UNAMA security directives for road missions and convoys.
• Assist with data collection, analysis and preparation of reports or informational material.
