Information Management Officer (NO-2) – Fixed Term, Kabul

About the role

The Information Management Officer (NO‑2) will lead UNICEF’s information management function in Afghanistan, supporting both humanitarian and basic human needs programmes. The role ensures data quality, timely reporting and integration of indicators to inform decision‑making and coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and develop information management systems for the Planning, Monitoring and Data unit.
• Produce analytical products, dashboards and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure data quality assurance, systematic tracking of AWP and CPD results, and monitoring of convergence districts.
• Contribute to key UNICEF reports such as the Humanitarian Response Plan, UNSFA, Situation Reports and the Results Assessment Module.
• Support capacity building for UNICEF teams, field offices and implementing partners.
• Facilitate evidence‑based planning, accountability and decision‑making across sectors.

Required profile

• Afghan national with relevant higher‑education qualification.
• Proven experience in information management, monitoring and evaluation within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of UNICEF programmes, humanitarian standards and data‑driven decision‑making.
