Information Management Officer (NO-2) – Fixed Term

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Information Management Officer (NO‑2) on a fixed‑term contract to support its country office in Kabul. The officer will lead the integration of humanitarian and basic‑human‑needs data, ensuring timely and high‑quality information for program planning, monitoring and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for the Information Management function within the Planning, Monitoring and Data unit.
• Develop, maintain and improve data collection tools, databases and reporting dashboards.
• Ensure data quality, conduct validation checks and support field teams in data entry and analysis.
• Produce analytical products and contribute to key UNICEF reports such as the Humanitarian Response Plan, Situation Reports and Results Assessment Module.
• Support inter‑agency coordination by supplying accurate information for nutrition, WASH, education and child protection clusters.
• Build capacity of UNICEF staff, partners and implementing agencies on information management processes.

Required profile

• University degree in information management, statistics, social sciences or a related field.
• Relevant experience in data management, monitoring and evaluation or humanitarian information systems, preferably at an international organization.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex, insecure environment and to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and data‑management capabilities.
• Familiarity with UNICEF’s monitoring and reporting frameworks.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English.
