Information Management Officer – Education Cluster (Kabul)

About the role

The Information Management Officer (Education Cluster) supports evidence‑based humanitarian planning and response coordination at sub‑national level in Afghanistan. Reporting to the Education Manager/Specialist Cluster Coordinator, the officer manages data collection, analysis and dissemination for the Education Cluster Working Group.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the Education Cluster Working Group IM function, represent the group in inter‑cluster IM meetings and promote harmonised data approaches.
• Implement an IM strategy, conduct secondary data reviews and primary data collection, design questionnaires and process data for analysis.
• Create accurate information products, maintain a secure shared storage system and disseminate outputs through appropriate channels.
• Support needs assessments, joint analyses and contribute to Humanitarian Needs Overviews, estimating People in Need.
• Assist strategic response planning, partner mapping and resource mobilisation by providing timely data and analytical products.

Required profile

• Experience in information management, data collection and analysis within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑sectoral teams and coordinate with national and sub‑national stakeholders.

Required skills

• Data processing, cleaning and validation.
• Designing questionnaires and using appropriate data collection tools.
• Producing analytical reports and information products following style guides.
