Immunization (Polio EPI) Consultant

About the role

The consultant will provide time‑bound technical expertise to sustain the quality and performance of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) and the Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) in Helmand Province. This role supports evidence‑based planning, implementation, monitoring and quality improvement of routine and supplementary immunisation activities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse immunisation and surveillance data using DHIS2, EPI dashboards, Excel and other monitoring tools to identify immunity gaps and monitor programme performance.
• Provide technical guidance on micro‑planning, supportive supervision, vaccine and cold‑chain management, surveillance, outbreak preparedness and response.
• Support coordination among the Provincial EPI Management Team, BPHS and non‑BPHS partners, provincial and district health authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Mentor frontline health workers and build their technical capacity through on‑the‑job support.
• Assist in community engagement and demand generation for immunisation.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in immunisation programmes, preferably in polio eradication or EPI contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to work in high‑risk, insecure environments.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data‑driven decision making.
