Head Cashier

About the role

The Head Cashier is a full‑time, on‑site position at the Farah branch of Afghan United Bank. You will lead daily cash operations, supervise cashiers, and ensure that all transactions are processed accurately and securely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage cash counters and oversee the work of cashiers and tellers.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, and bill payments in compliance with bank procedures.
• Monitor cash balances, coordinate cash replenishments, and enforce cash limits and security protocols.
• Reconcile cash at the end of each day and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate cash staff to maintain high service standards.
• Support the branch in achieving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction goals.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail with proven cash handling and reconciliation experience.
• Previous supervisory experience in a banking or financial services environment.
• Good knowledge of branch procedures, regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage workload, and maintain integrity in cash handling.
• Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with core banking systems.
• Experience using POS terminals.
• Competence in MS Excel and MS Word.
