Grants Manager – Kabul, Afghanistan

About the role

The Grants Manager will serve as the mission’s focal point for donor accountability, supporting strategic development, monitoring funding opportunities and ensuring timely, high‑quality proposals, reports and contract modifications.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the mission’s strategic development and identify funding opportunities aligned with SI’s global strategy.
• Oversee the compilation and submission of proposals, progress reports and contract modification requests to donors and consortium partners.
• Monitor compliance with donor procedures and build capacity of staff on internal accountability tools.
• Follow up on donor contractual obligations from contracting through closing and archiving.
• Prepare and centralise documentation for external audits and manage audit report archiving.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Science, Business Administration, Economics, Project Management, Public Administration or Development Studies.
• 1‑2 years of experience in grants management, donor reporting, compliance and proposal development with international organisations.
• 3‑4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
• 3‑4 years in a similar grants‑management position.

Required skills

• Familiarity with donor systems such as ECHO, AHF, CDCS and UN agencies.
• Experience with project cycle management (PCM).
• Excellent report‑writing skills.

What we offer

• Salary starting from EUR 2365 gross per month (2150 base + 10 % allowance).
• Monthly per‑diem of USD 600.
