Food Security and Agriculture Cluster NGO Co-Chair

About the role

The Food Security and Agriculture Cluster (FSAC) NGO Co‑Chair strengthens inclusive, transparent, and accountable NGO engagement within Afghanistan's FSAC. Hosted by World Vision Afghanistan, the role facilitates systematic consultation and information exchange with national and international NGOs and coordination mechanisms.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑chair National FSAC coordination meetings and represent collective NGO priorities.
• Contribute to Seasonal Food Security Assessment, IPC Acute Food Insecurity analysis, joint assessments, and sectoral needs analysis.
• Support contingency and preparedness planning, seasonal prioritisation, FSAC strategy development, and partner information management.
• Lead collective advocacy, resource mobilisation, and ensure NGO perspectives inform FSAC analysis and decision‑making.
• Promote strong coordination with UN agencies, humanitarian mechanisms, authorities, civil society, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain impartiality between the representative NGO function and duties as a World Vision Afghanistan employee.
• Report administratively to the Programme Development & Quality Director and collaborate with the FSL Sector Lead for technical guidance.
• Receive functional guidance from the National FSAC Coordinator and follow up on delivery of responsibilities.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in NGO coordination and representation within humanitarian or food‑security contexts.
• Ability to engage with national and international NGOs, UN agencies, and other coordination bodies.
• Strong understanding of FSAC processes, including assessments, planning, advocacy, and resource mobilisation.
• Capacity to maintain impartiality while acting as a World Vision Afghanistan employee.
