Female Medical Doctor (Re Announced)

About the role

Relief International, an international non-profit organisation working in 15 countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, is recruiting a female medical doctor to provide general care and admit patients at Charborjak CHC. The post is re-announced and requires adherence to the organisation's safeguarding and protection policies.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and provide general care to patients at Charborjak CHC
• Admit patients requiring special care, then investigate and treat them
• Examine and talk to patients to diagnose their medical conditions
• Make notes and prepare paperwork as a legal record of treatment and for other healthcare professionals
• Work with other doctors as part of a team, in the same or another department
• Give priority to patients in critical condition
• Liaise with medical and non-medical staff to ensure quality treatment
• Promote health education
• Provide night duty when needed and as instructed by the relevant staff
• Follow organisational policies and procedures and act professionally to protect the humanitarian mission
• Carry out any other tasks assigned by the line manager

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MD degree)
• At least 1 year of work experience in the health sector, preferably as a GP in curative medicine and treatment
• Experience on international donor-funded projects, UN agencies or NGOs in Afghanistan is preferred
• Fluency in Dari and Pashto, and excellent English
• Residency in the district is an advantage
