Data Clerk - Polio Eradication Initiative

About the role

CTG, a human resources and staffing solutions provider operating in 35 countries, is recruiting a Data Clerk to ensure accurate collection and management of Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) and Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) data in the province. The post sits under the direct supervision of the Provincial Polio Officer and the overall supervision of the client's representative in Afghanistan.

Key responsibilities

• Compile data on supplementary immunization activities, including pre-, intra- and post-campaign activities.
• Compile administrative (reported) coverage and intra-campaign monitoring data for all supplementary immunization activities (OPV and OPV/IPV).
• Compile and feed forward polio surveillance-related data.
• Validate and clean the compiled data and maintain the repository of provincial data.
• Feed forward the validated data to regional and provincial levels according to program timelines.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary education (Grade 12) is essential.
• Diploma or degree in Computer Science/IT is highly desirable.
• At least two years' experience in data entry, data management, record keeping, filing or administrative support.
• Experience entering, updating, verifying and maintaining data in electronic databases or Excel spreadsheets, and checking data for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
• Experience maintaining confidentiality and securely handling records and sensitive information.
• Desirable: relevant experience in the UN, government or NGO system.
• Very good knowledge of English and the local language.
• Full-time position with no dual responsibilities; willing to work long hours and weekends during campaigns and meetings.

Required skills

• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, file and record management.
• Computer training, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and data-entry applications.
