Community Based Facilitator

About the role

The Community Based Facilitator supports the implementation of agriculture, livestock, cash, vocational skills training and other income‑generating activities at the community level. The role involves planning, organizing, monitoring and reporting on Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate delivery of project activities, ensuring alignment with program goals and timely distribution of cash and inputs.
• Engage communities, identify priority needs, and mobilize participation through outreach and sensitisation meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, local authorities and other stakeholders.
• Ensure transparent beneficiary selection and provide training on agriculture, livestock, vocational skills, CBDRM and financial literacy.
• Monitor interventions, collect data, produce reports, and document success stories and best practices.

Required profile

• At least 12th grade qualification; Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Livestock, Economics or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in social mobilisation or community‑based work in humanitarian/FSL contexts.
• Fluent in Dari and Pashtu, able to travel domestically and work 80% of the time in the field.
• Good health, physical stamina and ability to work in diverse, resource‑limited environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using internet‑based tools and Lotus Notes for reporting.
• Data collection and documentation skills, including conducting surveys and focus groups.
