Access and Engagement Consultant (National Consultant) – Kabul

About the role
UN Women is seeking a National Consultant to support its Coordination, Access and Humanitarian Response Unit in Kabul. The consultant will work closely with UN Women units, field offices, and de‑facto authorities to ensure gender‑responsive access to programmes across Afghanistan.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare talking points and briefing materials for engagement with de‑facto authorities.
- Attend and provide interpretation support during meetings with authorities, UN Women management, programme managers and field offices.
- Collect, document and analyse gender‑related access constraints affecting programme implementation.
- Map partners’ engagement with line ministries and track memorandums of understanding.
- Produce meeting minutes and other deliverables as required.
Required profile
- Experience supporting coordination and access activities in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Familiarity with the political, economic and security environment in Afghanistan.
- Ability to work with multiple UN Women units, field offices and external partners.
- Strong communication skills for preparing talking points and documenting meetings.
