Logistics Assistant (G-5) – Fixed Term – Kabul

About the role

UNICEF Afghanistan is seeking a Logistics Assistant (G-5) on a fixed‑term basis to support the efficient delivery of programme supplies. You will work closely with programme and supply teams to ensure that goods move smoothly from arrival to distribution, complying with UNICEF standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support logistics planning, shipment monitoring, customs clearance, transport, warehousing and distribution.
• Maintain accurate logistics documentation, records and service‑provider performance logs.
• Assist with warehousing operations, including receipt, dispatch, stock reporting and physical inventory counts.
• Monitor stock levels, expiry dates and apply FIFO/FEFO principles; coordinate disposal of expired commodities.
• Liaise with internal colleagues and external service providers to resolve operational issues and ensure timely delivery.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary education; technical or university courses in supply chain, business administration or related fields are preferred.
• Minimum five years of relevant administrative experience in supply chain management, with a focus on logistics.
• Open to Afghan nationals or candidates holding a valid work permit for Afghanistan.
