Behavioral Science & Insights Consultant (Remote, 3 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to provide specialized Behavioral Science and Behavioral Insights expertise for the Continuity Counts initiative. The role focuses on translating discovery findings into practical, testable interventions that help caregivers complete routine immunisation schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Review Behavioral Discovery findings, identify priority barriers and enablers, and prioritize intervention ideas.
• Develop prototypes, design briefs and testing questions that specify target behaviour, audience, mechanism and point in the immunisation journey.
• Brief and guide the contracted design firm, review concepts and ensure behavioural mechanisms are preserved.
• Provide technical support during prototype testing, advise on methodology, interpret field feedback and recommend adaptations.
• Integrate testing feedback into refined prototypes, document learning and update the Theory of Change linking barriers, interventions and expected outcomes.

Required profile

• Minimum education: degree in Behavioral Science, Behavioral Economics, Social and Behavior Change, Human‑Centered Design or related discipline.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in Behavioral Science, Behavioral Insights or SBC, with demonstrated ability to translate evidence into intervention design.
• Fluent in English and Dari or Pashto.
