Field Coordinator

About the role

Action Against Hunger is seeking a Field Coordinator to support its operations in Afghanistan. Reporting to the Country Director, you will help shape the country strategy, oversee field activities, and ensure effective program delivery in challenging environments.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of the country’s humanitarian strategy and program design.
• Coordinate field operations and integrated program implementation across nutrition, health, WASH, and livelihoods sectors.
• Strengthen local partnerships, community engagement, and localization at the field level.
• Manage the field team, providing technical guidance and performance oversight.
• Facilitate coordination with the internal coordination team and external humanitarian actors.
• Oversee security and access management to ensure staff safety and program continuity.

Required profile

• Degree in Humanitarian Action, International Relations, Development Studies or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of senior management experience in humanitarian or development organizations, preferably in similar contexts.
• Proven experience in project management, strategic planning, and operational oversight.
• Strong managerial competencies including budget and resource management, security and access, and effective communication.
• Excellent negotiation, leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term 6‑month contract under French legislation.
• Monthly gross salary ranging from €2,597 to €2,968, plus 13th month payment.
• Pension insurance reimbursement (16% of gross salary for non‑French citizens).
• Monthly per diem and living allowance of €682 (net) and country allowance of €450.
• Cold allowance up to €380 per person per year for winter equipment.
