Field Coordinator – Humanitarian Operations

About the role

The Field Coordinator will support Action Against Hunger’s country strategy by overseeing field operations and integrated program implementation across Afghanistan. Reporting to the Country Director, the role ensures effective coordination with partners, communities and the internal coordination team while maintaining security and access standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day field activities and monitor program delivery against strategic objectives.
• Strengthen local partnerships, community engagement and localization efforts at the field level.
• Lead and supervise the field team, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Manage security, access and risk mitigation plans for staff and assets.
• Facilitate collaboration with the coordination team and external humanitarian actors.
• Oversee budget and resource allocation for field operations.

Required profile

• University degree in Humanitarian Action, International Relations, Development Studies or a related field.
• Minimum three years of senior‑level management experience in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven experience in project management and operational planning.
• Strong managerial competencies including strategic planning, budget management and security oversight.
• Excellent negotiation, leadership, coaching and team‑development abilities.

What we offer

• 6‑month fixed‑term contract under French legislation.
• Monthly gross salary between €2,597 and €2,968, plus 13th month payment.
