Driver (G-2) – Temporary Position – Afghanistan

About the role

UNICEF is looking for a G‑2 level driver for a temporary assignment covering Kandahar, Lashkar Gah and Jalalabad. The role provides safe and reliable transport for staff, officials and programme activities, contributing to UNICEF’s humanitarian mission in Afghanistan.

Key responsibilities

• Operate assigned vehicle(s) to transport staff, visitors and equipment safely.
• Maintain the vehicle in good working order, performing basic checks and minor repairs.
• Document vehicle usage, mileage and any incidents in accordance with UNICEF procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local traffic laws, UN security protocols and UNICEF’s code of conduct.
• Assist with logistical support for field missions as required.

Required profile

• Secondary education (or equivalent).
• Minimum two years of driving experience with an international organization, embassy or UN system.
• Fluent in English, Pashto and Dari.
• Professional, discreet and able to work with diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to handle pressure and manage time effectively.
