Data & Socioeconomic Analysis Specialist – Absorptive Capacity

About the role

The International Organization for Migration seeks a Data and Socioeconomic Analysis Specialist to support the production of a flagship analytical report titled “Beyond the Numbers: Afghanistan's Capacity to Absorb Large‑Scale Returns.” The assignment is based in Kabul and runs for approximately three and a half months, starting 15 September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the quantitative evidence base, indicators, and district typology for the report.
• Conduct data inventory, harmonisation, and exploratory analysis.
• Prepare a reproducible analytical package to support the report’s findings.
• Collaborate closely with the Senior Programme Coordinator, DTM, and IOM colleagues at regional and headquarters levels.
• Provide regular updates to the Chief of Mission and senior programme staff.
