Operations Senior Associate

About the role

The Operations Senior Associate will support critical infrastructure development and humanitarian response in Afghanistan. Working under the IBN Project Management Support Specialist, the role ensures efficient administrative, logistics and vehicle management aligned with UNOPS policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date work plans and guide IBN personnel on standard office transactions.
• Assist in developing and monitoring the UBN support unit’s annual work plan.
• Identify, mitigate and resolve operational deviations with supervisor guidance.
• Update and analyse the IBN Contracts Management Tracker to avoid contract lapses.
• Liaise with AFCO support services on budgeting, requisitions, vendor payments, procurement and inventory matters.
• Manage financial, administrative and procurement workflows within the OneUNOPS/Enterprise system.
• Compile data for financial resource planning and monitor critical operational financial indicators.
• Ensure effective logistics and inventory provision for project activities.

Required profile

• Experience coordinating administrative, logistics and vehicle management in an international or humanitarian setting.
• Strong understanding of UNOPS rules, regulations and compliance requirements.
• Result‑oriented mindset with ability to work cost‑effectively.
• Ability to work under supervision while taking initiative to resolve issues.
